The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: Safe Use in Pakistan

The Ordinary Peeling Solution is the most dramatic skincare product widely available in Pakistan — and the most misused. It contains 30% glycolic acid, tartaric acid, and lactic acid (AHAs) plus 2% salicylic acid (BHA) in a formula with a Crosspolymer Complex that keeps the active pH temporarily low enough to exfoliate at clinical strength. Used correctly, it delivers visible results in a single 10-minute session. Used incorrectly, it causes chemical burns.

Rules for safe use in Pakistan:

• Never use in summer daylight. Apply only in the evening. The increased photosensitivity after a strong AHA treatment + Pakistan's UV intensity = significant burn risk if you have any sun exposure the next morning without thorough SPF protection.
• The 10-minute maximum is strict. The formula continues working past 10 minutes. Do not leave on longer thinking it will work better. Do not fall asleep with it on. Set a timer.
• Never use on already-irritated skin. Active pimples, sunburn, eczema patches, or skin that is already sensitised from other actives — any of these make the peeling solution risk dangerous chemical irritation rather than controlled exfoliation.
• Frequency maximum: twice per week. Pakistani users often report trying to use it more frequently for faster results. More frequent use destroys the barrier faster than it rebuilds, resulting in chronic redness and sensitivity — the opposite of the radiant skin the product promises.

What to Expect the First Time

First application: Apply to clean, dry face using the dropper. A tingling sensation (1-3 out of 10 intensity) is normal. A burning sensation (7+) means you have a sensitivity — rinse immediately. After exactly 10 minutes, rinse thoroughly with cool water. Pat dry. Apply hyaluronic acid serum then moisturiser immediately.

Your skin may look red for 1-2 hours after the first session. This is a normal response to acid exfoliation. Do not apply anything except moisturiser tonight. The next morning: SPF 50 first, before any other product. Do not skip this.

Results you can realistically expect:

• After 1st use: Immediate surface glow and smoother texture to the touch
• After 4th-6th use: Visible reduction in post-acne dark marks, clearer pores
• After 3 months consistent use: Significantly more even skin tone, smaller-appearing pores, faded old acne scarring
