Alpha Arbutin
Alpha arbutin inhibits melanin production by blocking tyrosinase. It is gentle, stable, and safe for all skin tones including deeper Pakistani complexions. The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA is the best value option at PKR 2400.
Kojic Acid
Kojic acid also inhibits tyrosinase but can cause irritation in sensitive skin and rebound hyperpigmentation if overused.
Which Wins?
For most Pakistani skin types: Alpha Arbutin first. It is gentler, more predictable, and works beautifully paired with vitamin C. Always pair with SPF 50 every morning.
